The Model A Ford Youth Restoration Award is available to members and children of of both MAFCA and MARC members and is presented every other year at the MAFCA and/or MARC National Conventions. The first award was presented in 1994 with one $500 check being given to one MAFCA youth. In 2006, the award presented 9 winners each with $1,168 in parts, gift certificates and cash. In 2008, Eligible persons will be between the ages of 12 and 21 years of age and possess and being in the process of restoring a Model A or AA Ford. The restoration activities must be directed toward completing a Blue Ribbon/Fine Point or Touring Class Model A Ford (Assistance can be provided by others in the restoration). The restoration shall be intended for personal use (not for resale or by contract for another individual). Modified or hot-rod projects are ineligible for consideration. Upon notification, winners will be required to furnish proof of ownership of described restoration project in order to receive award. Award recipients must keep receipts for parts purchased with award funds and submit them to awards committee in order to continue receiving funds from program. The grant amount awarded to each winner selected is determined by the amount donated to the Restoration Award Committee by participating MAFCA/MARC Clubs and Model A Vendors.
